Big Chompy Bird Hunting
Description: Rantz the Ogre needs to feed his demanding children, Fycie and Bugs so he wants to go Big Chompy Bird hunting. Problem is, he's all fingers and thumbs when it comes to making ogre arrows. Could someone please give him a hand.
Requirements: Must have Lvl 30 range, lvl 5 fletching, lvl 30 cooking, ability to defend yourself against ogres(lvl-48 to 50) and kill lvl 64 wolves.
Items Needed: Hatchet, 100+ feathers, chisel, knife, armour to defend yourself, and a weapon to kill lvl 64 wolves.
Reward: Experience in range, cooking, fletching, ability to hunt Chompy birds, cook them, use an ogre bow and fletch ogre arrows, and get a hat from Rantz
Talk to Rantz. He will tell you that he wants you to get him a Chompy bird for his family to eat. After this he will tell you to make him arrows for an ogre bow.
Go a bit south until you find some achey trees. Cut them down and use a knife on them to get the shafts. After you have done this, go to the wolves(indicated on map) and kill them, use the chisel on their bones to get some arrow heads.
Fletch your ogre arrows by using the feathers with the shafts, then the heads with the rest of the bow. Make around 20. Once you have done this, talk to Rantz again(make sure you did everything yourself, or he won't accept the arrows!) make sure to ask him everything possible.
Now, to make the bait. Go to the cave just north of Rantz. Inside you will find his kids, and they will tell you that they play with the frogs, and they inflate them using ogre bellows. They tell you that their father took the bellows from them and put the inside a chest. Go to the north-western part of the cave and use your strength to open the chest. Inside you will find some ogre bellows.
For bait we will use frogs. Go back to the wolf area, and use the bellows with the bubbles in the swamp. Go to a frog and use the inflated bellows on him. You will then get a inflated frog. Repeat this 2 more times, then head back to Rantz. He will tell you where to place the bait(indicated on my map). Go and place a toad on that exact spot. A Chompy bird will appear and Rantz will try to kill it with your arrows, but he will miss every single time.
Go ask him if you can try and kill the bird with the bow and arrows. Place the toad back where he showed you, and wait for a Chompy bird to appear. Once he appears, attack it with the ogre bow, and once you kill it, pick up its Chompy meat(you must pluck the bird first). Now, go back to Rantz and he tells you that he wants you to cook the bird too!
He'll tell you to season his Chompy bird with some items, such as onions, doogle leaves, equa leaves, tomatoes, cabbages, and potatoes. All these things can be found inside the ogre area.
Your seasoning will be different than a friend for say, because it is different from player to player. Anyways, once you find all these things use them all on the Chompy bird(raw) and go back to the entrance of the cave you went in earlier.
Use the Seasoned bird with the Spit-roast, and you will have the bird that Rantz wants. Give Rantz the Chompy then...
