Scorpion Catcher

Starting Point: Talk to Thormac in the tower just south of seers/north of Ardougne.

Description: Thormac has lost his rare lesser Kharid scorpions after leaving their cage door open. These scorpions have hidden in areas that are rather difficult to get into. You will have to overcome various challenges (and drink a lot) and get all the scorpions back. If you manage to help him Thormac will improve your battle staffs.

Requirements:31 prayer, and to not be scared of high level monsters(up to lvl.172!).

Difficulty: Medium

Items Needed: None

Reward: 1QP, around 6k strength exp, Thormac will also enchant battlestaves for 40k gp.

  1. Talk to Thormac. He'll say he's lost all of his scorpions, and then sends you on a quest to find them. (bring the scorpion cage with you everywhere!)

  2. Bring the cage with you, and head to the prayer guild, which is just north of Fallador, to the east of the ice mountain. Go up the stairs into the guild, and you should see a scorpion. Use your scorpion cage with it.

  3. For the second scorpion, if you haven't done the barcrawl, you'll have to follow the following steps, otherwise, just make your way past the Baxtorian falls, go into the barbarian outpost. Use your cage on the scorpion inside.

  4. If you haven't done the barcrawl, then start it by going to the outpost mentioned above, then ask the barbarian for a barcrawl card. Bring some money with you, and head to seers village, and go to the bar there, then go to Ardougne, and go to the bar there, then go to Yanille(just south of Ardougne) and go to the bar there, then go back up to Ardougne, use the boat, and go to the bar in Brimhaven, then go to the free side, and go to the bar there. Almost done now, go to the bar in port Sarim (by taking the boat) and then go to the bar in Fallador, then to Varrock, and go to the bar near the entrance, and the one just south of the wilderness. Finally go to the Grand Tree, go up to the first floor (second floor american) and then go to the bar here. Head back to barbarian outpost, and the barbarian will tell you he can't read, but you look drunk enough, and let you in. Now use your cage with the scorpion here, and go the bank.

  5. Now the hardest part. For the last scorpion, we'll have to go to the Taverly dungeon(just south of Taverly, west of Fallador). Bring food and/or prayer potions and an anti-fire shield!

  6. Ok, if you have the dusty key bring it. Now go down the ladder that leads into the dungeon, and keep on going following the path until you come to a bridge over lava. If you have the dusty key, proceed to the next step, otherwise don't cross the bridge. Go into huge black knight chamber, and then take a left, when you see a jail. Kill the guard, take his key, and unlock the cell door with the explorer (Malak I think) in it. He'll give you the dusty key, so go back to the bridge, and cross it.

  7. Now, run past the lesser demons, then use your dusty key with the door. Run past the blue dragons, and then keep on going past the baby blue dragons. Run past the black demons, and you'll be in an area with some poison spiders. Look for a push-able wall, and you'll come into the room with the scorpion! Catch him in you cage, and then run back out of the dungeon.

  8. Go back to Thormac, and receive your reward!
