Shades of Mortton
Starting Point: Mort'ton
Description: Mort Myre's south border has been breached, and a path towards a strange town called 'Mort'ton' has been found.
Strangers return from such visits with tales of the 'Afflicted' and shadowy creatures who jealously guard their tomb treasure.
Requirements:Level 20 crafting and level 15 Herblore. You should be able to kill a level 40 shade. A team of people will be necessary, the higher the team's crafting level, the less people will be needed.
Difficulty: Easy
Items Needed: Axe, 10 000 coins, Tarromin, Tinderbox, 2 vials of water, some stuff to fight with.
Reward: 3 Quest Points, 2k Herblore experience. Also the ability to start getting fine cloth by going into the temple to the north. You may get some crafting experience.
Head down into Mort'ton, which is just south of the Nature Spirit quest island. Enter the swamp, head south of it, follow the winding path, to come to Mort'ton. Go and search the sign near the entrance, you should find some teeth marks inside of the sign.
Keep on going, until you notice the ruins of a house, which is just southeast of the sign. Search the broken table to find two Tarromin, and a rouges purse (Identify them)
Also, you'll get a diary. Read the diary and you'll find a temporary cure to cure the people of the town.
Use your Tarromin with both water filled vials you have, then cut down some trees(3) and burn the logs to get the ashes. Use the ashes with the Tarromin vials to get serum 207. Go to the general store and use it on Razmire Keelgan. He'll thank you, then ask him every thing you can. He'll ask you to kill 5 shades. Go and do so, then take their remains back to him(using a dose of the Serum on him).
He'll tell you to take a corpse to Ulsquire Shauncy. Go to the house just a little south and east, and you should come to him. Use your potion with Ulsquire Shauncy and then show the corpse to him, and talk to him again. Ask him everything, and go back to the shop, and use a dose with Razmire. Trade him(builders store) and but swamp paste, limestone, limestone rocks, planks, and 1 Olive oil.
Gather your team, and head to the temple which is east and north. Click on a wall to repair it/and/or kill shades attacking the temple(your friends can do this, or they can repair).
Get it to 100% repair and more than 10% sanctity.(go a bit more than 10%). Now use your tinderbox on the little pedestal in the center, then use your olive oil with it to get sacred oil. Keep on going until you have 20% sanctity. Use your Serum on the flame to get a permanent dosage, then use your sacred oil with some logs(chop some more down). Get some more shade remains(only 1).
Now go south and find a holy altar. Use the pyre logs on the altar, then the shade remains on the altar, then use your tinderbox on them to light it all, and a key might appear(if it does take it, if it doesn't, then you just have bad luck lol). Go back to Ulsquire, use a final dose of potion(not the permanent one) and you'll complete the quest. If you like, you can use the permanent one with the general store owner.
