Woodcutting

Woodcutting, in runescape, overall is the skill used to chop down trees to get wood. Usually woodcutting is used with firemaking and fletching. Woodcutting can be a good money-making skill once become a high leveled woodcutter.

Trees, where in runescape to cut, and experience per tree

Here are all the trees, and experience per.

Tree Name Level To Cut Experience per Tree Where To Cut
Normal 1 25 exp Chop these trees down Near draynor or lumbridge, or go to Seers(members), and walk south.
Oak 15 37.5 exp These trees are found in alot of places. When I was leveling up, I went to McGrubber's wood.
Willow 30 67.5 exp The best place for these is just beside the Draynor Village bank, but you can find them near water.
Maple 45 100 exp Even though these tree's aren't F2P, they aren't located in the F2P world. Search for them north of the Seer's bank and just south of Relleka.
Yew 60 175 exp The best place for these is probably just south of edgeville(right beside the dungeon entrance.
Magic 75 250 exp There are 3 trees just east of the ranging guild, some near the Sorcerer's Tower, and one right beside a bank in the Gnome Stronghold.

The Hatchets

There are 7 different types of hatchets:

Name Of the Hatchet Street Prices
Bronze 20 gp
Iron 400 gp
Steel 500 gp
Black 2,000 gp
Mithril 1,500 gp
Adamant 3,000
Rune 20,000

The better the hatchet you have, the better your chance of getting the log you are cutting. If two people cut the same log at the exact same time, they both get it.

To cut down a tree, just click on it. Random events might happen, so If you get message saying you don't have a hatchet, and you do, you're probably missing your hatchet's head. Other random events such as a tree spirit appearing, or a ent appearing, might kill you or break your axe. If your axe ever breaks, you can walk or teleport to lumbridge and talk the the owner of the axe shop to get a new one.

How to level up

Levels 1 - 25: Normal Trees.

Levels 26 - 45: Oak trees.

Levels 46 - 75: Willow trees.

Level 75+: Willow trees, and if you want to make money, yew, or maple trees.
